Biography
Mike Truck Portfleet shaped Lycia in early 1988 in his hometown of Phoenix. Motivated by post-punk as well as the ethereal 4AD audio from the ’80s, he started experimenting with electric guitar loops on his four-track recorder. He recruited a vintage friend, bassist John Good, to become listed on him, and both documented Wake in 1989 for Phoenix’s Orphanage Information. Fair still left a year afterwards to try out with Caterwaul, but Truck Portfleet continuing to record, sending his demos towards the goth-ambient Projekt label. Projekt enjoyed what it noticed and agreed upon him to some contract. The very first Lycia discharge for Projekt, Ionia, made an appearance in 1991. After documenting A Day within the Stark Part in 1993, Lycia became a duo once more when David Galas made an appearance on many live schedules in California, noted on 1994’s Live. Truck Portfleet and Galas initial recorded within the studio room as Bleak, a side-project which released Vane in 1995. Tara Truck Flower became the 3rd person in Lycia that calendar year, and her vocals made an appearance on The Burning up Circle and Dirt, a double-album released in 1995. Estrella implemented in 1998.

In Hollywood, sincerity is everything. If you can fake that, you've got it made. |
