b. Luz Casal, Spain. Originally documenting under her name, Luz is becoming Spain’s most widely known woman rock/pop vocalist since she produced her debut in 1980 using the strike single, ‘Un Ascensor’ (‘The Elevator’). Previously she got used the ‘exploitation’ rock-band the Fannys. ‘Un Ascensor’ offered the impetus to procure a substantial recording cover her 1982 debut recording, documented in Madrid, Brussels and Amsterdam. The achievement of Luz produced her a celebrity attraction throughout European countries, verified by her effective tour of Czechoslovakia in 1985. This is followed by a significant tour of Latin America where her recognition is also large.
