Luminescent Orchestrii

The Luminescent Orchestrii, based from NEW YORK, is a hard music group to label — the group combines Middle Eastern, Gypsy, and traditional Western european music with Appalachian fiddles, hip-hop beats, along with a punk attitude to provide a frenzied anywhere sound that resonates as old and new at exactly the same time. Shaped in 2002 by circus composer and resophonic guitarist (and expert from the bullhorn) Sxip Shirey, violinist Sarah Alden, composer and violinist Rima Fand, violinist Julie Carney, guitarronist Aaron Goldsmith, and free of charge jazz bassist Benjy Fox-Rosen, most of whom are united by way of a like of Balkan and Gypsy music, the group produced a name for itself at celebrations and clubs just like the Edinburgh Fringe Event, the Shakori Hillsides Grassroots Event, as well as the Knitting Manufacturer, with assorted underground celebrations in NEW YORK. The self-titled The Luminescent Orchestrii made an appearance in 2003, accompanied by a second recording, Too Sizzling to Rest, in 2005. The music group fulfilled and jammed with people from the Carolina Chocolates Drops, who focus on facsimile preparations of old dark Appalachian string music group tunes, in a Folk Alliance event in Memphis, and collectively the combined organizations documented a four-song EP, Carolina Chocolates Drops/Luminescent Orchestrii, that was released by non-esuch Information early in 2011.
