Luke Jordan

Probably one of the most intriguing from the Piedmont blues players, Luke Jordan was created January 28, 1892, in Bluefield, WV. As an adolescent he relocated to Lynchburg, VA, that was to stay his home foundation the others of his existence. Jordan documented 12 songs for Victor Information at two classes in 1927 and 1929, ten which possess survived on 78s, including his traditional variations of “Chapel Bell Blues,” “Pick and choose Poor Robin Clean,” and “Cocaine Blues.” Exhibiting a clean, exact guitar design, Jordan also possessed an elegant-sounding tenor tone of voice that conveyed sort of wry, good-natured experience, and his materials, attracted from a repertoire of ballads, betting music, ragtime, and minstrel music, flawlessly defines the Piedmont blues.
