Luiz Caldas

As well as Sarajane, Luiz Caldas was the precursor towards the axé music sensation, which, using its large nationwide success, shattered the dominance from the phonographic creation concentrated within the metropolitan areas of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Caldas’ record, Magia (WR, 1985), marketed 380,000 copies and brought many trio unétrico bands towards the genre, which afterwards became a big and solid marketplace niche for most performers.
