As well as fellow bandoneon participant Jose Libertella, Luiz Stazo shaped Sexteto Mayor in 1972. Paced by Stazo and Libertella’s double-bandoneon strike, the group is becoming among the Argentina’s leading rings. Initially appealing to global interest as the orchestra, along with Sexteto Berlingieri, for the worldwide stage present, Tango Argentino, in 1980, Stazo and Sexteto Mayor had been highlighted in the Broadway musical Tango Interest.
