Luís Carlos Sá

Luiz Carlos Pereira de Sá is among the members from the famous duo Sá e Guarabyra. Prior to the formation from the duo, both Sá and his partner, Guarabyra, had been already mixed up in artistic landscapes. Sá’s first strike was “Giramundo,” documented by Peri Ribeiro (who also record his “Escadas perform Bonfim”). Soon later on, Sá’s “Menina de Hiroshima” (with Chico de Assis) was documented by Nara Leão. In 1965, he worked well in the band of the historical Teatro Opinião, taking part in the also essential display Samba Pede Passagem, where Araci de Almeida, Baden Powell, and MPB-4 also performed. His solitary “Inaiá” (RCA) reached the finals of TV-Rio’s I FIC in 1966. He stop his individual profession because the duo’s development in 1973.
