Luís Carlos Paraná

Author of “Maria, Carnaval e Cinzas,” recorded by Roberto Carlos, and “De Amor e Paz” (written with Adauto Santos; interpreted by Elza Soares, with which he produced himself within the historic celebrations from the ’60s), Luís Carlos Paraná also experienced some achievement as an interpreter. Specifically, he was the musical maker and owner from the Jogral golf club in São Paulo, an important middle of music and tradition where Jorge Ben Jor and Martinho da Vila released their professions. Having been a peasant until 19 and a commercial worker, Paraná trained himself your guitar, playing for a full time income in the roads and in clubs. Shifting to São Paulo, by using some close friends he opened up the golf club Jogral, which would became historically essential as an area once and for all music (and a precursor towards the clubs focused on samba), beginning a duo with Paulo Vanzolini. In 1966, Paraná participated in the II Celebration de Música Popular (Celebration of Popular Music, Television Record), with “De Amor e Paz” (created with Adauto Santos), which, interpreted by Elza Soares, gained second place. Within the next calendar year, he documented his first one with two music by Vanzolini, “Capoeira perform Arnaldo” and “Napoleão.” Still in 1967, Roberto Carlos provided Paraná’s “Maria, Carnaval e Cinzas” on the III Festival de Música Well-known Brasileira (Festival of Brazilian Well-known Music), earning 5th place. The melody was documented by Carlos, and by Paraná himself, the last mentioned in the LP III Celebration de MPB. Paraná also documented for the reason that período Vanzolini’s “Samba perform Suicídio,” included on the LP I Bienal perform Samba. He also staged on the TBC movie theater (São Paulo) the musical Jogral 69 ou Operating-system Homens Verdes da Noite, making within the next calendar year the LP Jogral 70. Five years after his early loss of life, the label Marcus Pereira released the record A Música de Carlos Paraná, with liner records by Paulo Vanzolini.
