Luis Alberto Spinetta

From Latin pop/rock and roll to fusion as well as for more than 2 decades singer/songwriter and guitarist Luis Alberto Spinetta participated in a few of the very most interesting alternative ensembles within the Argentinian rock and roll picture. The talented musician began getting seriously involved with music in 1968 after signing up for Emilio del Guercio, Edelmiro Molinari, and Rodolfo García within a music group called Almendra, producing their debut with an individual featuring “Un Mundo Entre las Manos” and “Tema de Pototo,” accompanied by a self-titled record released in 1970 like the “rock and roll en español” traditional “Muchacha Ojos de Papel.” Spinetta started his solo profession in 1971 with Spinettalandia y Sus Amigos aka La Búsqueda de la Estrella. Furthermore, Pescado Rabioso and Invisible became his initial experimental clothes. In 1980 he transferred to the U.S. to help make the English-titled Only Like Can Sustain, documented in NEW YORK and LA, California. After collaborations with regional rock and roll symbols Charly García and León Gieco, Fito Páez teamed up with him to make a double record known as La La La. Movie director Pablo César asked him to compose the soundtrack for his film Fuego Gris before assembling Los Socios del Desierto with drummer Daniel Wirtz and bassist Marcelo Torres. After getting stricken with lung cancers, Luis Alberto Spinetta passed away in Buenos Aires in Feb 2012 at age 62.
