Ludwig Hirsch

Austrian singer/songwriter Ludwig Hirsch was an accomplished and well-known musician know for his dark humor and literate, often morbid lyrics. Created in Sankt Magdalena am Lemberg, Styria in 1946, Hirsch spent a lot of his youngsters in Vienna. Hirsch 1st studied visual artwork at university or college and, from 1975 to 1979, he was an associate of the Theatre in der Josefstadt. In 1978 he released his debut recording, Dunkelgraue Lieder (Dark Gray Tunes). That album’s achievement launched his profession and helped build his status among the architects from the burgeoning Austropop motion, which later noticed the rise of additional successful performers including Falco. Despite Hirsch’s frequently darkly sardonic music, he accomplished a high degree of achievement and garnered many accolades during his life time, including appearing on the stamp issued from the Austrian postal services in 1993 and earning an Amadeus Austrian Music Honor for his 2002 launch Perlen (Pearls). Hirsch passed away on November 24, 2011 after jumping from a windowpane at a healthcare facility in Vienna where he was purportedly becoming treated for lung malignancy. In 2012, Hirsch was posthumously granted the IFPI Life time Achievement Award from your Association from the Austrian Music Market.
