Ludicra

The San Francisco-based quintet Ludicra focuses on straight-ahead black metal (i.e., no gothic keyboards, pagan folk affects, or digital leanings) in a method influenced by rings such as for example Darkthrone, Gorgoroth, Dodheimsgard, and Bethlehem. The group shaped in 1999 and includes guitarist John Cobbett (Hammers of Misfortune and god, the father Strange Slough Feg), guitarist/vocalist Christy Cather, bassist Ross Sewage (also of Impaled and previously of Exhumed), vocalist Laurie Sue Shanaman, and drummer Aesop.
