Detroit, MI’s Luder arose through the ashes of the defunct local alternate rock band called Slot machine, when the latter’s overlooked recordings had been issued by the tiny Rock label in 2006 to commemorate the latest passing of Slot machine guitarist Billy Rivkin. This resulted in a particular hometown efficiency and an appearance in the 2007 SXSW event, featuring Slot machine bassist/vocalist Sue Lott and drummer Eddie Alterman augmented by guitarists Phil Durr (ex-Big Main, Five Equine Johnson, etc.) and Scott Hamilton, who also been Little Stone’s owner. Amazed by their on-stage chemistry, three from the four continuing to jam collectively thereafter, duly recruiting drummer Eric Miller (Five Equine Johnson, ex-Novadriver) to record an effective album, Sonoluminescence, beneath the recently selected moniker of Luder for launch in ’09 2009.
