Lucy Woodward

Born in Britain and raised in Amsterdam and NY, vocalist/songwriter Lucy Woodward began her professional music profession in her past due teens being a program vocalist. The girl of the composer and an opera vocalist, Woodward was no stranger to music and was raised acquiring piano and flute lessons before focusing on vocal research at age 14. Her function paid and Woodward’s debut, WHEN YOU Can, premiered by Atlantic in 2003. The jazz and soul-leaning …Is Hot and Bothered followed in 2008. Woodward after that continued within the jazz and retro-pop vein with her 2010 Verve debut, Hooked! Offering contributions from famous maker Tony Visconti, the recording included the singles “Sluggish Recovery” and “Ragdoll.” She after that toured, temporarily overtaking lead vocal responsibilities in Red Martini while vocalist China Forbes retrieved from vocal medical procedures. In 2012, Woodward released a cover of Nina Simone’s “Become MY HUBBY,” featuring support from jazz, funk, and fusion clothing Snarky Pup. Woodward’s 4th full-length recording, Til They Bang on the entranceway, made an appearance in 2016 and presented co-production from Henry Hey and Snarky Pup bassist Michael Group.
