Love Jones

Shaped in 1990 by two former punk rockers, Like Jones match the so-called “cocktail nation” of the first ’90s. In a few ways a a reaction to the grunge/substitute influx that swept through America in 1992, the people from the cocktail country celebrated the looks and music from the ’50s and early ’60s — the lounge jazz, crooning pop, and martinis. Like Jones played any kind of pop music which could suit that label — pop, blues, R&B, bossa nova, doo wop. Ex – Squirrel Bait and Lemonheads drummer Ben Daughtrey and bassist Barry Thomas shaped the group within the springtime of 1990; shortly afterward, the duo added vocalist/guitarist Chris Hawpe, drummer Stuart Johnson, and vocalist Jonathan Palmer, with Daughtrey playing different percussion musical instruments and performing. After playing for any 12 months in Louisville, KY, the group relocated out to Hollywood where they ultimately received a agreement with Zoo Entertainment. Like Jones released its 1st record, Here’s towards the Losers, in past due 1993.
