Lotus Plaza

The project of Deerhunter guitarist/vocalist Lockett Pundt, Lotus Plaza recalls a few of his various other band’s shoegaze-tinged hazy experimentalism and bursts of lucid guitar pop, but takes those sounds in directions influenced by ’50s and ’60s pop and ’80s post-punk. Though he performed in several groupings during senior high school, Pundt wasn’t in virtually any serious rings until he fulfilled Deerhunter frontman Bradford Cox in university and became a member of the flip. Pundt began documenting as Lotus Plaza in 2007, playing a lot of the musical instruments himself and employed in his bedroom on the four-track and pc set up. Lotus Plaza’s debut record, The Floodlight Collective (called for the initial band Pundt is at), found its way to springtime 2009 on Kranky Information. Three years afterwards, after Pundt finished his responsibilities with Deerhunter because of their Halcyon Break down tour, Lotus Plaza came back with Spooky Actions far away, a far more streamlined group of songs.
