Los Abuelos de la Nada

Argentinean rock-band los Abuelos de la Nada was shaped in the first ’80s by singer Miguel Abuelo, guitarist Gustavo Bazterrica, keyboardist Andrés Calamaro, bassist Cachorro López, saxophonist Daniel Melingo, and drummer Polo Corbella. Following a failed attempt in the 1970s, Miguel Abuelo made a decision to be successful and continue rocking through the ’80s. In 1982, the record Los Abuelos de la Nada was made by Charly García, obtaining a strike one with “Sin Gamulán.” In June of 1983, the music group performed effectively at Buenos Aires’ Obras Sanitarias, launching Vasos con Besos immediately after. A season afterwards, Bazterrica and Melingo still left the music group, being changed by Alfredo Desiata and Gringui Herrera. By that point, los Abuelos de la Nada documented “Himno de Mi Corazón,” which shortly became a smash strike. In November of 1985, the music group was invited towards the Buenos Aires Rock and roll & Pop Celebration, playing alongside Charly García and Fito Paez. That same season, a live record called En un Opera premiered, accompanied by 1986’s Cosas Mias. The music group broke up immediately after. In March of 1988, Miguel Abuelo dropped his fight against HIV.
