Lorien

Multi-national indie rock-band shaped in February 1998 by London College of Music learners Fabio Ciarcelluti (b. Italy; vocals/electric guitar), Einar Tonsberg (b. 6 Feb 1973, Reykjavík, Iceland; electric guitar) and Carlo Polli (b. Weston-Super-Mare, Avon, Britain; drums). The London-based trio had taken their name in the enchanted forest in J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel GOD, THE FATHER Of The Bands, a suitable motivation because of their swirling, atmospheric music. After playing just a small number of live shows these were approached with the renowned UK supervisor Stevo, and shortly afterwards agreed upon a recording agreement with the moment Karma label. Their debut one, ‘Shivering Sunlight’, premiered in Oct 2001, getting the band solid support from a UK music press enraptured by their melancholic indie rock and roll sound. The next year’s BENEATH THE Waves was made by Manic Road Preachers associate Mike Hedges, but despite high compliment in the press the anticipated commercial breakthrough didn’t appear. The music group sundered shortly soon after, with Tonsberg heading on to discharge solo materials as Eberg.
