Loose Teeth

Michigan indie quartet Loose Tooth were shaped in 2013 by Ypsilanti-based singer/guitarist Gregory Dean McIntosh. An extremely respectable collaborator and go-to acoustic guitar ace for several reputable Midwestern rings, McIntosh had however to launch an effective automobile for his personal songwriting. A small number of his tunes were documented by Ann Arbor folk-rock clothing Great Lakes Misconception Society — which he’s a founding member — but Loose Tooth marked his 1st tenure as bandleader and main songwriter. Along with drummer Matt Jones, bassist Tom McCartan, and keyboardist Mary Fraser, Loose Tooth began to consider form in 2015, gigging around Southeast Michigan and gelling around McIntosh’s powerful, richly detailed acoustic guitar pop. In the summertime of 2016, they released The Doppler Change, a four-song EP whose jagged, nervy energy and musical cleverness drew motivation from pop outsiders like Andy Partridge and Luke Haines, two of McIntosh’s musical heroes.
