Virtuoso dulcimer participant, Lois Hornbostel was raised in a music family, hearing, and loving, music. While on a trekking visit to New Hampshire in the 1970s, she 1st heard the hill dulcimer and identified to consider it up. She analyzed with folk musician Frank Proffitt, Jr., but instead than pursuing his Appalachian design of taking part in, she brought her new-found dulcimer abilities to bear within the music she understood the very best: celtic. In the past due 1970s, she started to perform around NEW YORK and in 1980 relocated to NEW YORK to dedicate her lifestyle to her music.
