Lock Up

A side project for Napalm Death’s Shane Embury (bass) and Jesse Pintado (guitar), SECURE was essentially conceived being a booze-fueled go back to the organic brutality of middle-’80s proto-death steel. Named following a loss of life steel drumming technique where the hands are stiffened to create lightning-fast blastbeats, SECURE was initially curved out by Cradle of Filth drummer Nick Barker (afterwards of Dimmu Borgir) and Hypocrisy vocalist/creation mastermind Peter Tagtgren. Defusing feasible supergroup-type targets by emphasizing spontaneity and energy over, state, rehearsal, SECURE recorded an recording, Pleasures Pave Sewers, at Tagtgren’s studio room and released it in early 1999. On the next tour, Tagtgren’s place was used by In the Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg.
