Lloyd “Bullwackie” Barnes

Through the early ’80s, dub producer Lloyd “Bullwackie” Barnes taken care of a busy studio in the Bronx, where he created a big ensemble of reggae vocalists and released the music on his Wackies label. Among the vocalists Barnes (whose nickname can be Bullwackie) caused consist of such luminaries as Horace Andy, Wayne Jarrett, and Junior Delahaye aswell as others: Appreciate Joys, Naggo Morris, Meditations, Stranger Cole, Glucose Minott, Clive Field Marshall, and Leroy Sibbles. This loose collective is becoming referred to as the Wackies. The Berlin-based Fundamental Channel label, popular because of its dub-techno recordings, reissued an abundance of Wackies recordings in the first 2000s.
