Little John

b. John McMorris, c.1970, Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. McMorris 1st documented with Captain Sinbad for the Youngsters HAPPENING label in the sensitive age group of nine, where his piping interjections contrasted nicely with Sinbad’s gruff design, and through the entire 80s he was rarely from the reggae graphs. Stated by many to become the 1st dancehall vocalist, his capability to match lyrics over any tempo or backing monitor became something of the legend inside a business which has scant respect for second requires and ‘shedding in’. Small John achieved it each and every time – and he rode for the crest from the 80s’ dancehall music explosion, learning to be a superstar by age 17. He started his profession on Romantic Hello there Fi, upgrading through Killimanjaro, Gemini and Volcano Hello there Power, where he honed and perfected his build with an extended string of live performances. Concurrently, he was documenting for just about any manufacturer in Jamaica, notably Henry ‘Junjo’ Lawes, Joseph ‘Joe Joe’ Hookim, George Phang, Jah Thomas and Jammys, and he provides released countless information on the bewildering string of brands. He no more records as thoroughly as he once do, and limitations his live performances to the very least. Strikes for Exterminator demonstrated that he had not been counting on his previous glories, and his skill, warm character and skill being a raconteur remained.
