Little Jack Little

Small Jack Small was a 1930s bandleader and singer who enjoyed a significant strike with “Keep Me personally” in the mid-’30s — another track with which he was closely connected was “You Oughta Maintain Photos.” He was a grasp of the singing-talking technique that was well-known in the 1930s, and he was effective until his violinist, Mitchell Ayres (aka Mitchell Agress), bolted from your orchestra with a few of its various other best people and shaped their own music group. Small afterwards led a bolero tempo orchestra — he’s best appreciated by Honeymooners enthusiasts for his talk about, alongside Basil Fomeen and Ted Fiorito, by Jackie Gleason’s Ralph Kramden in the event “Young in mind,” as he recalls the rings that used to try out on the Sons of Italy Hall in Brooklyn. Small passed on in 1955.
