Little Dragon

Created in Gothenberg, Sweden in 1996, this electronic quartet includes lead vocalist Yukimi Nagano (vocals, percussion), Håkan Wirenstrand (keyboards), Erik Bodin (drums), and Fredrik Källgren Wallin (bass). Naming themselves after Nagano’s nickname that she received for tossing tantrums while documenting, Small Dragon debuted in 2006 using the “Test” solitary around the Scandinavian Off the beaten track label. The next year, Small Dragon authorized with the bigger English indie Peacefrog for his or her self-titled debut recording released in 2007. Its starting track, the hushed ballad “Twice,” was presented through the 2008-2009 time of year of Grey’s Anatomy. Later on in ’09 2009, the group released Machine Dreams, which demonstrated new wave motivation through larger hooks. After Small Dragon collaborated on recordings by Gorillaz (Plastic material Beach), TV around the Radio’s Dave Sitek (Optimum Balloon), SBTRKT (SBTRKT), and Big Boi (Vicious Lays & Harmful Rumours), amongst others, they released another recording, Ritual Union, created and documented during gaps within their routine as world-wide support for Gorillaz. The record uncovered these to a wider target audience, charting in both U.S. as well as the U.K. Worn out from touring, Small Dragon took a while out to record their following recording at their personal studio room space in Gothenburg during 2012. For the saving, they drew musical affects from Prince to Janet Jackson and stated that this dark and chilly Swedish winter performed a component in shaping their audio. Preceded with the singles “Klapp Klapp,” “Paris,” and “RELEASE,” Nabuma Rubberband premiered in 2014 and eventually nominated to get a Grammy in the group of Greatest Dance/Electronic Record. Featured performances on paths by famous brands ODESZA, Macintosh Miller, Kaytranada, De La Spirit, and Flume implemented shortly thereafter. Small Dragon’s fifth established, Season High, found its way to 2017.
