Lisa Pollard

Tenor and soprano saxophonist Lisa Pollard, aka “the Saxlady,” produced a name for herself experimenting the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Bay area for quite some time. In the first ’70s, Pollard went to Laney University in Oakland and finished her research in 1975 at Sonoma Condition University earning a qualification in expressive arts. In 1979, she continued the road using the Ellington Orchestra beneath the path of Mercer Ellington, touring Japan and European countries. During this time period, she supported Sarah Vaughan, Eddie Fisher, Nancy Wilson, distributed the stage with Harry Carney, Jessica Williams, and required saxophone lessons from Ben Webster. In 1993, Pollard released I Observe THAT PERSON Before Me within the Concord label. Because of this day, Pollard put together a music group complementing her selection of swing, awesome, and standards offering Ray Dark brown, Benny Green, Grady Tate, and Crimson Holloway.
