Lira

Lerato “Lira” Molapo was created in Daveyton, South Africa, on March 14, 1979. After earning a competition for youthful performers and songwriters, Lira began executing live at age 16, performing both cover variations and self-penned tracks. In 2000 she was uncovered by musician and manufacturer Arthur Mafokate, who got her sign along with his very own record label, 999 Music, and helped her discharge her debut record, All My Like (2003). Having still left 999 Music, Lira teamed up with keyboardist Victor Mngomezulu, bassist Tshepo Sekele, and manufacturer Robin Kohl and in 2006 released FEEL GREAT, a more completed work that uncovered her being a talented musician, in a position to move quickly from contemporary R&B to jazz, from lush pop to bossa. An enormous success, it resulted in five nominations on the South African Grammy Honours (Greatest New Artist, Greatest Female Artist, Greatest R&B Album, Greatest Single, and Greatest Video). In July 2007 the record premiered in Italy, where its name track gained substantial airplay. Released in 2008, her sophomore record, Soul at heart, garnered many South African Music Honours nominations and eventually took house the Record of the entire year prize. In ’09 2009 she released the Dvd movie Reside in Concert: A Special event, which showcased a efficiency on the Carnival Town Gambling house in Boksburg, South Africa. The Dvd movie was an enormous commercial success, getting triple platinum position. She released her third studio room album, Go back to Like, in January of 2011. That same season, she released the five-track The Lira EP.
