Lindsey Muir

Classically trained vocalist Lindsey Muir, who was simply given birth to and raised in Litchfield, CT (her mother was founder of Litchfield Performing Arts), hadn’t actually considered making an archive until shortly just before she graduated in the University of Connecticut using a degree in music, when she discovered a song that her grandfather wrote on her behalf grandmother years just before. Thus started the one-year task of discovering the right parts and music artists for an record. With help from saxophonist/arranger Don Braden, pianist David Berkman, guitarist Tag Whitfield, bassist John Benitez, and drummer Winard Harper, Muir documented the 11 monitors entirely on her debut, You’re Nearer: Appreciate Songs from the ’30s and ’40s, that was released in 2006.
