Linda Sundblad

Swedish vocalist Linda Caroline Sundblad became a nationwide music and fashion icon while fronting the rock group Lambretta, before getting into a single dance-pop career. Lambretta created in 1993 like a three-piece, but their profession didn’t start to remove until many years later on when the bandmembers asked a Hyperlinköping record shop owner whether he understood of worthwhile singers. That shop owner ended up being Sundblad’s dad, Ulf, and even though Linda was just 15 at that time — fifty percent age the oldest bandmembers — she decreased out of senior high school to become listed on as the group’s business lead vocalist. With Sundblad in the forefront, Lambretta released three effective, gradually harder-edged albums between 1999 and 2004 and obtained several main Scandinavian strikes that combined hard guitar rock and roll with danceable pop beats, occasionally using the songwriting and creation assistance of Swede pop mastermind Maximum Martin. In the mean time, Sundblad also produced guest performances on singles with the Swedish hip-hop group Infinite Mass (“She’s a Freak” in 2001) as well as the rock cello ensemble Apocalyptica (“Faraway Vol. 2” in 2003; she also made an appearance for the cover of this group’s record Reflections, with cello f-holes colored on her nude back ? la Guy Ray). Throughout Lambretta’s profession, critics as well as the press had focused nearly all their attention particularly on Sundblad, praising her charismatic celebrity power and her style sense (which gained her evaluations to Gwen Stefani and an honor, in Swedish Elle publication, for Greatest Festive Style; she also released a modeling profession privately). There have been also persistent crucial appeals for Sundblad to visit single, citing the considerable age disparity inside the music group and phoning her the group’s only skill. But she managed solidarity with her bandmates, refusing to accomplish solo interviews and insisting that she wasn’t likely to keep the group. That’s, until she do, dissolving Lambretta in the wake of their many aggressive recording, 2004’s The Battle, which was much less effective than its predecessors. As the group’s users went their individual ways (two of these forming the music group Psych Onation) Sundblad relocated to California, got wedded, and began preparing her solo profession. Oh My God, her single debut, made an appearance in November 2006, offering tunes co-written with Tobias Karlsson of Infinite Mass, aswell as Maximum Martin and his Cheiron studios crony Alexander Kronlund, a-ha’s Martin Landqvist, and Teddybears’ Klas Åhlund. With this recording, Sundblad revealed an upbeat, ’80s-influenced dance-pop design markedly not the same as Lambretta’s guitar rock and roll; the first two singles, “Oh Dad” and “Get rid of You,” strike number 1 and two, respectively, in the Swedish charts.
