Lil’ Ru

A South Carolinian using a self-described “gumbo of crunk, snap, and various other popular Southern rap designs,” Lil’ Ru earned his initial stutter-start as an adolescent in 2001 when fellow Palmetto-stater Angie Rock took him under her wing and got him inked to Elektra Information. While label shake-ups would stall the MC’s discovery, Lil’ Ru continuing to compose regional classics, his trawling drawl just a slight little bit much less guttural than Lil Jon’s. By 2009, the rapper got rebounded to Capitol Information and got a breaking strike with the remove club-touting “Nasty Tune,” off his debut 21 or more.
