Lil Mama

Jumping onto the airwaves at 17, Lil Mama cleared a broad path for herself using the main radio strike “Lip Gloss” in early 2007. Elevated in both Brooklyn and Harlem, Niatia Kirkland was raised with seven various other siblings. She discovered solace on paper poetry aswell as dance choreography. But using the encouragement of her dad, who possesses the record label Familiar Encounters, she understood that being truly a hip-hop musician could improve both of these interests. Signing up for her father’s label, she journeyed to Atlanta in 2006 to function exclusively with manufacturer Adam “Groove” Chambers, who helped build the “Lip Gloss” one. After some ambitious maneuvering to obtain her music noticed, New York’s flagship hip-hop/R&B place Hot 97 started playing the record continuously. When Jive Information caught wind from the “lip gloss-poppin'” one, the business quickly scooped her up in January 2007 and produced Lil Mama a teenager rap sensation all around the East Coastline. Moving into springtime and summer of this calendar year, her reach begun to broaden nationally as her impressively choreographed video for the melody proceeded to go into rotation on MTV and BET’s 106 & Recreation area. The Jive connection allowed the high-school lyricist to generate heavy-hitting companies like Scott Storch, Swizz Beatz, and DJ Green Lantern on her behalf Familiar Encounters/Jive debut record.
