Fusing ’70s AM radio hooks with acid rock and roll expanses, Lights presented vocalist/guitarist Sophia Knapp, drummer/vocalist Linnea Vedder, and bassist Alana Amram. The task started in 2004, when Knapp fulfilled Vedder within an artwork supply shop and both began writing tracks together and carrying out at celebrations. They teamed up with 1st bassist Andy MacLeod (previously of White colored Magic) and, with Espers’ Greg Weeks, documented their self-titled debut, which Vocabulary of Rock released in 2008. Immediately after, the music group signed to Pull City and released its follow-up, Rites, in ’09 2009. Late the next year, nevertheless, the group transformed its moniker to Cliffie Swan in order to avoid misunderstandings using the Canadian pop designer known as Lamps. The band’s last result as Lamps was a cover of David Bowie’s “As the Globe Falls Down” for the charity recording We Were Therefore FIRED UP: A Tribute to David Bowie. Knapp, Vedder, and Amram caused Erika Springtime and Hannah Rawe for his or her first recording as Cliffie Swan, 2011’s Recollections Come True.
