Lieutenant

Mainly a solo vehicle for Foo Fighters and SUNSHINEY DAY PROPERTY bassist Nate Mendel, Lieutenant make passionate, melodic modern rock. Searching for another electric outlet to display his songwriting, vocals, and electric guitar skills, Mendel started using down-time between Foo Fighters engagements to record his tips with Shins and Modest Mouse drummer Joe Plummer. The task developed as time passes, and in 2015 Mendel released Lieutenant’s debut record, If I Wipe out This Thing WE ARE ALL Likely to Eat for weekly, on Dine By itself Records. Made by longtime Melvins associate manufacturer/keyboardist Toshi Kasai, the record also featured efforts from fellow Foo Fighter Chris Shiflett, SUNSHINEY DAY True Estate’s Jeremy Enigk, Helmet’s Web page Hamilton, and Mind as well as the Heart’s Josiah Johnson.
