Lia Ices

Brooklyn, New York-based pianist, vocalist, and songwriter Lia Ices was created and raised in Connecticut, where she began using piano at age five, although she didn’t discover her penchant for songwriting until years afterwards while their studies at N.Con.U.’s famed Tisch College from the Arts’ Experimental Movie theater Wing. Sounding a little like Tori Amos within a Kitty Power globe, Ices quickly captured interest in the region, eventually launching the eight-song record Necima in 2008 with Nicolas Vernhes’ Rare Reserve Room Information. The pop songstress captured a break this year 2010, putting your signature on onto indie label Jagjaguwar and starting focus on her second record. That record, Grown Unknown, premiered in 2011 and highlighted a guest functionality from Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon. It might be many years before she came back in 2014 with her a lot more electronic-leaning third record, Ices.
