Li Chin Sung

Contemporary avant garde composer Li Chin Sung released Former in 1996 within the Tzadik label’s Composer Series. Referred to as Dickson Dee when on turntables, Sung remixed Surface Zero’s Consume Crimson in 1997, a task that Gastr Del Sol and Share, Hausen and Walkman also done. Through the ’90s, Sung co-owned Hong Kong’s Audio Stock (along with Henry Kwok), an unbiased label that centered on the city’s underground music including sound and avant-garde, and arranged and promoted region concerts by such music artists as Otomo Yoshihide, John Zorn and Fred Frith.
