Cuban-born Ley Alejandro made a decision to pursue a singing career in 1990, even though he achieved an British teaching degree from Havana’s José Martí College. After taking part in a Cuban threesome, he became a member of exotic group NG la Banda, requesting politics asylum while touring the U.S. Ley Alejandro registered to BMG in 1997, documenting his debut record, known as Gracias, which highlighted a cover of the traditional Latin tune “Malagueña Sanerosa.” He climbed the graphs in 1999 with “Desesperadamente Enamorado.” Alejandro came back in 2001 with Sentir Amor.
