Letty & Georgia

Letty & Georgia certainly are a high-energy country duo from Growing Fawn, GA, whose music is based on the grey area somewhere within rock and roll, country, bluegrass, and folk, comparable to their influences Emmylou Harris and Bonnie Raitt. Their early successes resulted in opening slot machine games for Doc Watson, Sawyer Dark brown, the Kentucky Headhunters, David Wilcox, BR549, Sam Bush, Jo Dee Messina, and Don McLean. Counting on a combined mix of old-fashioned credibility and modern slickness, Letty Stoneman and Georgianne George sing with shiny harmonies, associated with their full music group (the Cowboy Angels, made up of Bobby Steele on bass and Ashley Smith on drums) or frequently with simply their acoustic guitars. Their 1997 self-titled first record was defined by Chattanooga Moments as “natural, unadulterated nation” and was well received by both open public radio and many commercial radio retailers. In 2000, Letty & Georgia released the follow-up Compact disc 8 Second Trip.
