Leon Selph

A fiddle participant, Selph started the Blue Ridge Playboys in 1936. The group performed fine Western golf swing and fostered the professions of Moon Mullican, Floyd Tillman and Ted Daffan. Selph led a large band soon after Globe Battle II and stayed mixed up in Houston region up to his loss of life. The Blue Ridge Playboys’ edition of Selph’s tune “Provide Me My Dime Back again” continues to be widely anthologized as well as the track has produced its way in to the repertoire of contemporary groups like the Hot Golf club of Cowtown.
