Leon Mar

Most widely known for his alternately jazzy and uplifting drum’n’bass and intensive, focused darkcore, Leon Mar (aka Fink, Noel Memory, Essential oil, and Arcon 2) continues to be producing dance monitors for the better component of a decade. Initially small known in the jungle community (though his root base, like a lot of jungle proper’s biggest brands, lay solidly in hardcore), Mar rode an easy monitor to notoriety through a string of acclaimed produces for 4Hero’s observed Reinforced label, documenting such monitors as “Water Globe,” “Silent Working,” and “The Beckoning” under his very own name so that as Arcon 2. Mar was also included on the tough-as-nails Reinforced compilation, Above REGULATIONS following to such observed performers as Goldie, L Increase, and Dillinja. Although Mar’s previously Reinforced material, and a scattering of monitors and remixes for Echo Drop and Selector mined a softer, even more fusion-fueled vibe, Mar’s function since “The Beckoning” (also Reinforced’s 1st CD-EP) offers tended toward the dark’n’hard, with solid, warbling bass arranged against snapping breaks and ominous atmospheres.
