Arnar Gudjonsson (vocals/guitar), Hallur Hallsson (bass), and Arnar Olaffson comprise the Icelandic indie rock group Leaves. Acquiring their name from the Nick Drake recording Five Leaves Remaining, Leaves started in Iceland’s capital town during summer time 2001. Gudjonsson have been holed up in a reddish house writing tunes, as soon as Hallsson became a member of him, Leaves found life. By Oct, the trio experienced several tunes under their belts and performed their 1st live display, an 800-masses gig at an area art gallery. Seeking to increase their horizons and gain brand-new roots, Leaves appeared to London. They agreed upon a cope with B-Unique prior to the year’s end and released Breathe. This 11-tune set discovered Leaves crafting a moody, swirling pop audio. The United kingdom press adored them, frequently evaluating Leaves to Radiohead and Coldplay. Shared schedules using the Coral, Supergrass, and Electric powered Soft Parade implemented in addition to smaller gigs in the us. In springtime 2003, DreamWorks captured blowing wind of Leaves’ impressionable musical design and provided them a stateside offer. Breathe was slated for any domestic launch in September.
