Lawrence Lanahan

Baltimore, MD, based singer/songwriter Lawrence Lanahan spent a decade studying music prior to starting his own profession in it in age 29. DJing in university, learning jazz with guitarist Carl Filipiak, focusing on his master’s thesis “The Public Signifying of Musical Improvisation,” working an after-school music plan for children, and playing in the jazz-funk music group Juicebox had been all encounters that shown him to different noises. By 2002 he experienced it was time for you to focus on his songwriting. Live shows around Baltimore brought great press and evaluations to Mason Jennings, Elliott Smith, and Bruce Cockburn. Lanahan released his debut, self-titled EP in June of 2004.
