Aulin studied on the Stockholm Conservatory and afterwards with Gade in Copenhagen and Massenet and Godard in Paris on the Jenny Lind award. She was a reputed pianist and instructor. She constructed for chorus, orchestra and chamber parts, aswell as functions for the key pad. She was the sister of violinist and composer Tor Aulin.
