Laura Dukes


b. 10 June 1907, Memphis, Tennessee, USA. An early on begin in music led Small Laura Dukes to an eternity of participation with entertainment in Memphis. Her dad have been a drummer with W.C. Convenient’s band, nonetheless it was a much less advanced idiom that Dukes select, playing blues using the jug rings that that city is indeed popular. She sang and performed banjo and ukelele using the Will Batts Novelty Music group, and even though they produced two recordings in the first 50s, they were not really issued until twenty years later on. She made even more records using the revival appealing in blues and related music within the 70s, and in addition appeared inside a BBC Tv series. As past due because the 80s, she was still carrying out in Memphis, in the Blues Alley golf club, setup to display the town’s blues skill.
