Las Migas

This all-female new flamenco quartet was formed in Barcelona around 2004 by several students of Escola Better de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC). Todas las Migas’ original undertake flamenco attemptedto reveal the bandmembers’ different roots and backgrounds: Silvia Pérez Cruz (Girona, fado and jazz), Marta Robles (Seville, flamenco and traditional electric guitar), Isabelle Laudenbach (Berlin, flamenco electric guitar), and Lisa Bause (French Brittany, music hall and tango). Over time the group made an appearance in numerous celebrations, nonetheless it was just this year 2010 that Todas las Migas found enough time to record their debut record, Todas las Reinas del Matute, including poems by Federico García Lorca and Rafael Alberti, traditionals, and some originals. Component of Todas las Migas’ sporadic character revolved around the multiple commitments of lead vocalist Cruz, who ultimately left to go after a solo profession. Alba Carmona required her place for 2012’s Nosotras Somos.
