Biography
Among the best organists to emerge since Joey DeFrancesco, Larry Goldings began piano lessons when he was 9. Goldings, who graduated from the brand new School for Sociable Study in the past due ’80s, was Jon Hendricks’ accompanist during 1987-1989, caused Jim Hall for 3 years, and (influenced by Jimmy Smith) led a trio that offered him a chance to play body organ. He done the Hammond B-3 with Maceo Parker, and in 1990 documented his first arranged for Small Music. Since that time, Goldings offers toured and documented with John Scofield and authorized with Warner Bros., liberating some albums, including 1995’s WHATEVER NEEDS DOING, 1996’s Consciousness, and 1999’s Moonbird. Voodoo Canines was released a year afterwards, with AS YOU pursuing in early 2001. In 2002, Goldings released the research fiction-themed Sweet Research. Quartet showcased Goldings’ piano chops in 2003. He came back in 2007 with Long Tale Short and matched up with saxophonist Harry Allen for 2010’s When Larry Met Harry. In 2011, Goldings shipped the single piano album IN MY OWN Room.
