Biography
Along with his sister Lorrie, guitarist and singer Larry Collins was area of the brother-sister duo the Collins Kids, who cut among the better rockabilly from the 1950s. Playing a double-neck acoustic guitar, Collins was an excellent acoustic guitar prodigy, and got time to lower some popular instrumental duets with coach Joe Maphis, a nation guitarist twenty years his older. The Collins Children split up when Lorrie wedded, and Larry lower some undistinguished diluted rockabilly-pop before drifting back again, like a lot of early rockabilly performers, to nation music. Being a songwriter, his most well-known credit is normally co-penning “Delta Dawn.”
