The entire year was 1968, and the easy but garish light from the Herbie Mann Live on the Whisky A CHANCE Go front cover, glowing using the thick Technicolor aura that was typical from the cinema of this era, was as very much in charge of the album’s reputation being a “happening scene” as the tepid jazz-funk in the grooves. Professional photographer Larry Browne was accountable; the membership got even more out of the photo program than from all of the advertising it in fact payed for that year.
