L’Archibudelli

The name of the internationally renowned group means bow and gut strings. In its nearly decade-long lifetime, its membership provides continually transformed from two to eight string performers with many continuous players: Vera Beths, Jürgen Kussmaul, and Anner Bylsma. This constant regrouping enables the musicians to provide a broad repetoire of parts and also matches their desire to take pleasure from performing with a number of musician close friends, rather than wanting to maintain a set form being a string quartet or quintet. The group stresses the authentic display of works from the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth decades, and prefers to try out on gut strings to be able to realize the old timbres in functionality.
