The pseudonym of American songwriter and bedroom recordist Rania Woodard, LANNDS specializes in atmospheric indie electronica. Located in Florida by method of Memphis, Woodward was raised singing in chapel and used blues acoustic guitar in her mid-teens. She attempted her hands at writing tunes while in senior high school and began tinkering with synths and documenting gear by her early twenties. With help from Jacksonville-area maker Brian Squillace, she self-released the textured guitar-based solitary “Still” in the summertime of 2016. Although it continuing to garner some interest in the indie blogosphere and accumulate channels, she published the off-kilter consumer electronics of “Wide Awake.” Regularly airy and melancholy in firmness, she followed people that have the tunes “Metanoia” and “Youthful Years” early in 2017, and quickly bundled the four tunes as the Wide Awake inside a Sleepy Globe EP.
