Lady of the Sunshine

Following the success of Australia’s response to Belle & Sebastian, Angus & Julia Rock, the male half from the Sidney folky-sweet duo, made a decision to venture out to begin with his own task, sans press or fanfare. The theory had taken your hands on Angus Rock while on tour using the previous group, leading to him to create between tours rather than give up the theory that tracks themselves consider their own styles and meanings. Phoning the experiment Woman of sunlight, Rock endeavored to have a dirtier, edgier, and even more introspective downturn to his music. You can find guitars that jump from acoustic to droningly electrical, catchy hooks, and a haunting strength towards the vocals, similar to Elliott Smith or simply Kings of Leon. An absolute ’70s throwback vibe exists in the audio, using its dragging Led Zeppelin-esque blues chords and a Western Coast twangy rock and roll feel that’s extremely Buffalo Springfield or Neil Youthful. Lady from the Sunshine’s debut recording, titled Smoking Weapon, was documented in North Queensland in 2008 with friend Govinda Doyle co-producing and overtaking on drums and bass. The complete recording was documented in six weeks, and released in Apr of 2009 on Flock Information.
