Lacona

A Chicago-based outfit focusing on ’80s-tinged pop/rock and roll, Lacona took its sonic cues from your Cure, the Vehicles, and Radiohead. Guitarist/vocalist Geoff Dolce, keyboardist/vocalist Patrick Newberry, and drummer Andrew Barbeque grill founded the music group in 2003, as well as the trio quickly started touring Chicago’s nightclub circuit. Some early recordings helped the music group set up a hometown target audience, including a 2005 EP entitled SERIOUSLY. The group’s mix of apathetic lyrics, vocal harmonies, post-punk acoustic guitar muscle mass, and chilly key pad atmospherics attracted the eye of bassist Jon Hill, who quickly joined Lacona’s rates. Right now a quartet, Lacona partnered with Scuzzball Information for the discharge of its 2008 debut, Pantomime.
